"Diamond Hill Dolls" Felt Chickens Giveaway

Every little girl loves dolls. I have never met one who didn't! I've known many grown women who still collect dolls! Recently I discovered an great lady from London, England who makes her own dolls. If you can dream it up, she can make it! Would you like a doll made to look like you or your daughter? Are you looking for a special, unique Christmas gift? Check out Diamond Hill Dolls!

I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to Clare, Diamond Hill Dolls creator:

" Hi, I'm Clare Coyne of Diamond Hill Dolls. For most of my life I have been a multi-media crafts person with a background in jewellery, mosaics, costume and now a cloth doll artist, specializing in one-of-a-kind handmade cloth dolls.I design and make these dolls in my studio at the South Bank London. My Mother Brenda, a lifelong knitter knits the sweaters for my dolls.

When I'm not making dolls, I am on the hunt for materials I can use, I am fortunate to live in London with all the antique markets, craft exhibitions, vintage shops and art supply shops on my doorstep. I like to relax by kayaking on the Thames.
Inspired by the uniqueness of every face and character I come across, the need to create something beautiful to be treasured and passed on and a passionate love of textiles have all bought me to the path of doll making. Based between Central London and Cleggan Ireland, home to my Mother and my favourite inspirational walk up Diamond Hill mountain.

Here at Diamond Hill Dolls I make high-quality, one-of-a-kind, cloth dolls. Every single doll is unique, lovingly handcrafted from designer and vintage fabrics. Most of my dolls have cloth faces with embroidered detail. But recently, I have been making dolls with clay faces which are hand sculpted and painted. Every doll has her very own outfit, complete to the under garments. My range of dolls include vintage, modern, multi-racial, character and good old fashioned rag dolls.

I love to make personalised dolls to customer requests. I have made look-a-like dolls from photographs, fantasy dolls from childrens drawings and even dolls to resemble loved pets! I have also made dolls inc orporating a customer's old wedding dress!

I aspire to make treasured items - dolls that are loved as much as I love making them. Clare Coyne."

You can find Diamond Hill Dolls online at http://www.diamondhilldolls.com/.

Although her main business is her doll making, Clare also enjoys other crafts. Another creation Clare makes are felt chickens. She has decided to give one of my fans 6 free range felt chickens! These would be so cute in my house sitting on the hutch or maybe in a cute little basket!

The chickens are made from scraps of left over felt from her workshop. They are not toys and should not be given to children under the age of 3!

Would you like to win them? Here's how!

Mandatory Entry: You must got to http://www.diamondhilldolls.com/ and look over her dolls. Then come back here and tell me which doll is your favorite and why.

Dora the Explorer Magazine Review and Giveaway

Dora, Dora, Dora the Explorer!

Does that sound echo in your house right now? My daughter is still a little bit young for Dora, but I nannied for about a year and a half for a family with 4 children, who at one point where all under the age of 5! Needless to say,  I am very familiar with Dora!

I was sent a Dora the Explorer and Friends magazine to review. It is a new magazine for kids that debuted in September 2010. Although no age is listed on the magazine, I would recommend it for children ages 2-6.  This magazine is full of color! There are lot of educational projects for children to enjoy. My favorite page was a page that has a "grocery store list" for your children to take along shopping. They look for items on their list to check off as you travel down the aisles. There are also coloring pages, mazes, writing, patterns, and even stickers!

The cover price for this magazine is $4.99. You can save 20% off the cover price by ordering online at http://www.titantots.com/ or by calling them at 1-877-363-1210 and quoting code "dora1". This means you'll get six issues a year (each issue covers 2 months) for just $23.95!

This magazine would be a great resource for preschool and kindergarten learning at home! And you've got a chance to win one free--actually, you have FIVE chances! That's right--there will be five winners!

*Please leave one comment  per entry letting me know you've satisfied the requirement.*

New Native Baby Carrier Review

Recently I was sent a New Native Baby Carrier. I was impressed from the beginning because these are not, one-size-fits-all carriers. New Native asked for all of my measurements to send me the carrier that would fit me and my baby the best!

When I received the carrier, I fell in love with the print! It is an organic cotton carrier in Gypsy print. Don't you just love it?!

When the carrier comes, it needs to be washed and dried to reach it's correct size. After that, I would highly encourage you to watch the instructional DVD that comes along with it! I tried to figure it out on my own at first, but quickly realized that it would be better watch the instructions. The DVD has clear, easy to follow instructions. The carrier also comes with a full color quick visual instructions pamphlet.

I love using this carrier when Maggie and I go out shopping. It is so easy to put on: just over you head and your done! She's much happier being carried while we are out, and a lot more apt to fall asleep that way too!

The only negative thing I'd say about the carrier is that right now with my daughters age/weight it is hard to put her in it and have her facing outwards comfortably (for her and I both). We used the carrier for a little while at the zoo, but then took her out because she seemed uncomfortable. We love all of the other holds!
The New Native Carrier can be worn a number of different ways. My favorite ways are the Hip Carry and the Cradle Carry.

If you love baby wearing, you'll love your New Native Baby Carrier! It's been used and recommended by stars Kerri Russell and Cindy Crawford!

Would you like to purchase one for yourself? Check out their website at http://www.newnativeinc.com/index.asp

Tushy Roll Review

How many times have you been out with your baby and had to use those public restroom diaper changing stations? I'm sure, like me, you're not too happy about laying your baby on them, because those little changing pads that come with diaper bags are never big enough to fully cover them! Now my daughter is crawling and rolling, so she never wants to lay flat when I change her. She's grabbing onto anything she can to try to roll herself over. I am not the world's biggest germaphobe, but public restrooms defiantly gross me out!

Tushy Roll is a great product made just for moms like me who cringe when walking into the public restrooms! These diaper changing pads are extra long and wide to cover the diaper changing stations completely! Check out this picture from Tushy Rolls (Yes, I"m stealing their picture--I was a little weary of how the others in the bathroom would think of me when I whipped out my camera!)

Tushy Rolls are Baby Changing Pads that are Hand-made, Washable, Absorbent, Decorative and Compact. They are approximately 20" X 34". They are ALL HAND MADE! They have an absorbent stabilizing liner in between two coordinating fabrics that compliment each other. Each one comes with an attached strap with velcro that makes securing the rolled up Tushy Roll easier. They roll up and fit in any size diaper bag. Perfect size for the public restroom changing tables!  You can find them several ways:

Facebook: Tushy Rolls
Twitter: Tushyrolls
Sorry that the quality of this picture isn't the best. I'm not sure what happenned. This is my largest changing pad (or atleast it was before I got my Tushy Roll!) and as you can see, the Tushy Roll is a decent amount longer!

So, what's the verdict in our house? We love our Tushy Roll! It definitely takes the "ick" factor out of having to change my daughter when we're out! The product is very well made, and the print that I was sent is so pretty and feminine! It's nice to be able to come home and just toss it in the wash with the rest of my daughter's laundry.

Tushy Rolls come in all kinds of different fabric choices. They start at just $20 and come with a satisfaction money back guarantee, so you've got nothing to lose except some yucky germs!!

~THINK PINK~ Ribbon and Pearls Giveaway *CLOSED*

*Congratulations to Elise and Tara the winners!*

I got an awesome package just yesterday from Ribbon and Pearls to do a review AND giveaway for ~THINK PINK~! I was so excited to find it in my mailbox!!

This is what I received with their normal purchase prices:

- Woven headband- $5
- Two crocheted clips (one heart and one butterfly)- $2.50 each
- Simple boutique clippies (one with a flat center and one with a knotted center) 1 for $2; 3 for $5; 5 for $7.50 ( Grippzies no-slip grip can be added for an extra $0.20).
- Mini Korker pigtail set- $7.50 for the set
-Crossed Cluster Newsboy crochet hat in pink 100% cotton yarn; 6 month size; Ecru rose with light green leaves- $23.00.

I dressed my daughter today by picking out her accessories FIRST (the corker pigtail set and the newsboy hat) and THEN picked an outfit to match! :) She looked adorable, if i do say so myself!
The quality of these items is fabulous!  I am just blown away by the hat! It is completely handmade and I'm telling you, for that price, it can not be beat!!! SO well worth it! The pictures truly don't do these items justice. They are all absolutely gorgeous!!
When I tried the clips in my daughters hair, I was amazed because they really did stay put! She has very fine baby hair and I just figured they'd slip right out. Sure, maybe after a little bit of time they may come off, but with her hair as fine as it is, they work very well! The look great also! I really love the crocheted hair clippies. I can not believe how low-priced they are! All of the hair accessories are really nice, and I know you will love them!

We went out shopping today, and I got lots of compliments on how cute her hat was! I will definitely be checking Ribbon and Pearls out in the future for my little girl accessory needs!!

And guess what, you've got 2 chances to win from Ribbon and Pearls! One lucky reader will win a custom hat, the other $20 store credit to put towards the hair accessories of their choice!!

Pyur Review

Recently I was contact by Pyur about doing a review of their baby products. Of course, I jumped at the chance! I love trying out new baby products!!

I was sent nourishing baby lotion and baby diaper balm. They came in this really cute little canvas bag.
I've been using the body lotion all over my baby and it works very well! Her skin is very soft. She also happened to have a small red area in the crease where her thigh rolls are. Unfortunately (for obvious reasons) I can't show you before and after pictures, but I had been putting the diaper balm on that spot and within 3 days it was gone!
Pyur is committed to use the highest quality, organically grown herbs and oils for our, gentle handmade soaps, balms, lotions and massage oils. Our products are 100% toxin-free, cruelty-free, vegan, and free from all artificial preservatives, fragrances and dyes. We use eco-friendly recyclable or reusable packaging and materials. It is very important to us to take care not only of you and your loved ones, but also of the planet that we all share.

You can purchase Pyur product for yourself and your family! Go to their website at http://www.pyurcare.com/ and check out their Facebook page, Click Here!

~THINK PINK~ Cloth By Tel AIO Diaper Giveaway! *CLOSED*

*Congrats to "Mommy of L & G" the winner!*

Cloth By Tel is an online cloth diaper and accessories retailer and she's got great prices and selection! Here is what she has to say about herself and her business:

I am a cloth diapering mom to 2 wonderful boys, and a wife to my wonderful husband, who puts up with my cloth diaper addiction!
I didn't know about cloth diapers ( in the sense that they weren't "old fashioned") when I had my oldest son.  But while I was pregnant for my youngest I did a lot of research and soon realized the "new age" of diapers had arrived.  I thought this was great because I was raised to be very eco friendly, but the prices were way out of range for my pocket book.  So I started buying disposables after I gave birth to Joe, well that didn't last long, I didn't see the point to spending all that money on garbage, but yet I couldn't convince myself that buying cloth diapers could fit in my budget, yes they are cheaper in the long run, but I couldn't afford the up front cost to start. My solution, since I love to sew, was to go buy some fabric and see what I could come up with. I didn't have a sewing machine, so I went to my mom's and after 6 hours I had 1 All In One diaper made! I was so proud and so excited! I kept at it, and eventually it took me less than 6 hours to make 1 diaper, and I loved them, they were made completely by me, I designed and tweeked until I found a diaper that worked great for us.  After using them for several months and showing them off, I had several people ask me to make some, I did, and they loved them. That's how Cloth By Tel was formed in January 2008, since then I have expanded from KiJiJi, to Hyenacart, to Facebook, and now I am publishing my very first website!  I make and have designed all of the All In One and Fitted diapers on Cloth By Tel as well as the cloth diapering accessories.  I wholesale in the One Size Pockets, which have no brand label on them, which is the reason why I am able to keep the cost of them so low.  Thank you to everyone who has decided that buying from WAHM's is the right choice, it helps us to stay home with our family and still bring in some "bacon". ~Chantal

How many of my blog followers cloth diaper their babies? I can tell you that it started for me because I wanted to save money on diapers--and now I just love my cloth diapers!! They are so cute and I love they way they look on my little girl. I never dreamed there would be so many cute prints and colors out there to chose from! Tel has lots of patterns and colors to chose from at great prices! Check out her website, http://www.clothbytel.com/index.html

Cloth By Tel would like to give you the chance to win a free AIO cloth diaper, in size medium-large (fits roughly 12-20 lbs). It has a great striped print!

Soda Stream Review

Hello all! Thrifty Nifty Daddy here to do my first review for all the awesome fans of Thrifty Nifty Mommy! Just think of me as the hairier, less attractive version of Thrifty Nifty Mommy. Yep... no eye candy here. On to the review!

The SodaStream is an absolute dream-come-true for anyone who has always wondered what would happen if they cram a compressed gas into that stuff that comes out of the kitchen faucet. And lets be honest, who hasn't wanted to try cramming a compressed gas into faucet juice? I can't think of anyone. Add one of the many delicious SodaStream flavorings and BAM!!! you got yourself a tasty, refreshing cola! (Man, I say “BAM!!!” way better than Emeril. Hey Lagasse! Put that in your juice box and suck it!)

My dogs went nuts when I turned the SodaStream on. Anything that makes my dogs happy is cool in my book. It's easy to use and brilliantly designed. Here's the instructions broken down Barney-style:

1: Insert CO2 canister into back of SodaStream
2: Fill soda bottle to the marked line with water
3: Press the button on the top of the SodaStream unit to infuse the carbonation
4: Add your desired soda sauce (flavor syrup)
5: Shake
6: Tell Coke and Pepsi where to stick it
7: Gain a sense of smug satisfaction
8: Enjoy

To make it even easier you can skip steps 6 & 7! Easy, breezy! Health conscience? Most flavors are made with Splenda. And the benefits just keep coming!

Now, my loyal blog drones, go and buy one!

-Thrifty Nifty “SodaStream Drinking” Daddy

Can we have a big round of applause for my wonderful husband?! That's his first review and we hope you enjoyed it! I just wanted to add my 2 cents (as all good wives do, right?)

This thing is definitely nifty. It really does work and it's very easy to use! A 5 year old child could work it on their own, easily.  I have to say that there were 2 things I didn't like. One, most of the sodas are sweetened with Splenda. I can taste the difference and do prefer sugar. They are still good, I just prefer sugar. If you like the way that diet drinks taste though, you'll love it! And two, the container that you make the soda in is not dishwasher safe. I hate hand washing--but it's not to bad when you're getting your own soda at home! The one thing I did like though is that Soda Stream offers all natural soda flavors and these DO have regular sugar in them. We have 2 flavors of this and they are very good!

If you'd like to purchase your own Soda Stream, you can find them on http://www.amazon.com/ or purchase them directly from the company at http://www.sodastreamusa.com/.

~THINK PINK~ Green Line Diapers Giveaway *CLOSED*

*CONGRATS TO JULIE!*

I'm so happy to bring you a cloth diaper giveaway for ~THINK PINK~ week!! I think everyone who has cloth diapers has been there. You start out with cloth diapers only know of 1 or 2 of the popular, well known brands. You become addicted, start searching, and realize that the world of cloth is HUGE! You have so many choices, and if you're like me, you want to try them all!

Green Line Diapers is one of those diaper companies that you may not know much about, but you really should check out! Do you like prints? They have a LOT of fun ones!! Here's a little bit about them:

Company Overview:
We have put much thought into creating our diaper, addressing a few of the major downsides of cloth. It was important to us that it was affordable, practical and responsible.
Mission:
Affordable : Diapering becomes cheaper with Green Line. The cost of using disposables for six months is approximately $500. Our full set is $330 (not approximately). Look in the discussion pages to find out how.

Practical : Some of our earlier designs were terrible. Some leaked, some were too expensive, some couldn't adjust, some took over an hour to dry and some were just ugly. We put on our thinking caps and the result was non-leaky, cheap to make, adjustable, quick drying and beautiful.

Responsible : For the environment and for babies! The environment is helped by buying local and reusable products. And babies get cozy seat cushions that can aid in preventing diaper rash. Not bad...

Products:
$17 COVER - Both stylish and comfortable, the waterproof cover keeps the soaker where it should be. It is fully adjustable throughout the early years.

$6 BAMBOO SOAKER - Soft, safe and thirsty! Check out the video of them in action.

BabyLegs Review and Giveaway *CLOSED*

*CLOSED* Winner is "M". You have 24 hours to contact me "M" at thriftyniftymommy@yahoo.com or I will have to draw a new winner. If I do not hear from you by 9pm EST on 11/3 I will draw a new winner.

I'm sure by now you've seen babies and small children in adorable leg warmers! Or, maybe you already have some yourself. I was super excited to get some for my daughter from BabyLegs! They sent me 2 pairs of BabyLegs Leg warmers, a pair of girl tights, and a pair of baby socks for my girl to try out.
Who and what are BabyLegs? I'm glad you asked! Here's what they have to say about their business:

The BabyLegs® brand has grown from one mom's diaper bag accessory - our signature leg warmer - to a popular children's brand with essential child and baby products.
In April of 2005, a young mom was confronted with a diaper rash that just wouldn't quit. The rash needed some fresh air to heal, but she was also concerned about keeping her daughter warm. In a moment of inspiration, she snipped the feet off of a pair of socks and fitted her daughter from hip to ankle with a cool set of leg warmers. These leg warmers not only kept her daughter warm, but also protected her from the elements, made diaper changing and potty training easier, and protected her soft knees while crawling. With some fun designs and some grassroots marketing support, the functional and fashionable leg warmers that began as a solution to keep little legs warm quickly became much more.
BabyLegs® leg warmers quickly became a parenting essential across the world because of their utility, practicality, and stylish appeal. Our continued desire to provide products that provide style and protection for little legs and feet eventually led us to expand into children's hosiery with the introduction of baby socks and girls tights. In 2009, BabyLegs® was acquired by the United Legwear Company, a global manufacturer of hosiery and underwear. To learn more about United Legwear, please visit http://www.unitedlegwear.com/about-us.

So, what did we think? We loved them! My daughter has been learning to crawl over the past 2 weeks and the leg warmers have been great! They've help protect her knees and legs from carpet burn, and kept her nice and warm.  Not only that, but she wears a lot of dresses, and these are perfect to put on underneath of her skirts! It's amazing how quickly diaper changes are when she's wearing them as well! The tights and socks are very stylish and well made. I love putting them on her!

You can purchase BabyLegs from their website, http://www.babylegs.com/ and they have offered my fans 20% by using the code "NIFTYMOM."

*Congrats to Ashley N, the winner!!*

I am so, SO excited to offer you this blog giveaway. I just think these little ponies are THE CUTEST! Here is a little bit about Manely Recycled and their creator:

I'm Amy of Manely Recycled by audioamy on etsy.  I'm the very recent SAHM to my three boys, ages 4yrs, 2.5yrs and 7 weeks.  The name of the shop really says it all:  I try to keep great materials out of the landfill by making stick horses from these materials.  Sometimes I get
carried away and make other things from materials too good to turn down at the local thrift store, but my love is in creating stick
ponies for imaginative play for young children.  Please check out my etsy shop and my facebook page.  Let me know if you see anything you
like.

~THINK PINK~Kayt Taylor: Handmade Accessories for Children Review and Giveaway *CLOSED*

Congrats to Jennifer Smith, our winner!

Have you been to visit Kayt Taylor Handmade Accessories for Children yet? She has so many fantastic items for sale! She sent a hair accessory and matching scarf for me to review.

When I got the set, I was so thrilled and made sure to put my girl in an outfit the next day that she could wear it with. Even though I HATE cold weather, I was actually a little sad when we got outside and it was warmer than it was supposed to be. My little girl still rocked the scarf at my niece's birthday party for a few minutes, then I left her take it off (but we kept the awesome hair bow on!)

The scarf is SO soft!  I love the way it looks on her. I tend to lean more towards clothes that look like mini adult versions, so I love that the scarf is one I would wear--oh--I just had a thought--we could get matching mother daughter scarfs!! :)

"Reversible scarf with inside seams for maximum comfort & fashion. Created with easy fold over option to show both fabrics, fit their little neck just right, or wear tall on those extra cold days! Great for wearing long, tying, or wrapping snug as a neck warmer. Made from flannel & cotton. Measures: 39 1/2"x4"  Wash care: Machine wash cold. Tumble dry low, or hang dry.

The hair piece is genius! Kayt puts a snap on the headband, and it's matching part on the bow. Because of this, you can mix and match her bows and headbands quickly and easily! It looked so cute on my girl's head and I got lots of compliments!
