Earthly Remedies by Erin Review and Giveaway
All diaper rash creams are not created equal--can I get an AMEN!? :) If you are a cloth diapering mama like me, you know that the number one rule of butt creams and cloth diapers is to NOT use your typical store brand. You need to purchase cloth diaper safe creams--or else!
Truly, I actually had a nightmare a few nights ago that I dropped my daughter off at the church's nursery (which, I never do!) and they, trying to be helpful, loaded her butt up with Desitin--in her cloth diaper. Yes, it was a true nightmare! I made a mental note to myself that whenever I do start to put her in the nursery, that I write out instructions on using her diapers!
Why do I ramble on about this stuff? Because Earthly Remedies by Erin has a line of Baby Butt Cream/Balm that is cloth diaper safe, AND works great! The Baby's Butt Balm comes in a container that is just like a Chapstick tub. That means you can rub it all over baby's butt without having to get the balm all over your hands.
Maybe it was the fact that the balm looked like Chapstick, maybe it was that I had dry lips. I don't know, but I decided before I used it on my baby's butt, to use some of the Baby's Butt Cream on my dry lips. I figured, if it's good for red chapped butts, it will work on the lips too. And, you know what--it did! It made them nice and smooth and was very soothing. Call me crazy, but I always seem to have dry, chapped lips and I'm constantly looking for something better to help them. So, if you've got this same problem, try the Baby's Butt Cream! Really!
I was very impressed with both the Baby's Butt Cream and Baby's Butt Balm. Whether you cloth diaper or not, it works great on my daughter's behind and keeps her red-free! Check out Earthly Remedies by Erin today! Don't forget to search for her on Facebook too!
Earthly Remedies by Erin would like to give one of my lucky readers their own Baby's Butt Balm! Enter below for your chance to win.

Bargain Bakers Review and Giveaway
You're in for a treat! (No pun intended!). I've got a guest blogger for you today! Chantal, from Cloth By Tel offered to review a product she received from Bargain Bakers!
Let me give you a little background info on Bargain Bakers, and then the review:
We make homemade, preservative free, mixes for Easy Bake ovens. We will be carrying a line of gluten-free mixes, sugar-free mixes, dairy-free mixes, and a wide variety of regular mixes. All are complete with baking instructions, and carefully labelled to insure no mix-ups of the different varieties. All mixes are vacuum sealed to maintain freshness, without preservatives.
I am a Work At Home Mom to two little princesses, one who is 4 1/2 years, and one 5 months old. I run a daycare from my home, and in my "spare time" I have started a second business, Bargain Bakers :)
When my daughter received an Easy Bake oven from Grandma for Christmas, we were both excited to get baking. But when i saw the price of the refills, my heart sank a little. And we were not happy with the "wide selection" that the stores had to offer. I decided to do some research on recipes i could make with her at home. I realized other people must have the same issues that I do with the preservative and chemical filled mixes available at the stores, and a business was born! Find Bargain Bakers on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/BargainBakers.
Here's what Chantal had to say about her experience (please note, you can also make these mixes in a toaster oven, which is what Chantal did!).
These are awesome! I am a mom of a 3 year old boy, who LOVES to bake... and I am not big on making a whole cake...(I don't NEED a whole cake in my house for a week lol - it's not good for the thighs) so I have been debating buying an Easy Bake Oven... but they are quite girly, the mixes are CRAZY expensive, and half the time I couldn't even pronounce what was in them...and that's what was stopping me... so when I heard about Stephanie's Bargain Bakers, I was ECSTATIC! Me and Joe just finished baking our cake and I couldn't wait to write this review (he's still eating it as I type) He LOVED it! It was SO easy, the ingredients were actually things that I heard of, ya know like, wheat flour, baking soda, NORMAL ingredients! And it tasted delish, my son is huge on sharing and after he took the first bite, he offered me one... then he devoured it! AND to top everything off the customer service was great! It was ordered Friday, and arrived to my door... Tuesday I believe! WOW I recommend these to everyone
I would love to share my own personal experience with you as well, but I have yet to get an Easy Bake oven for Maggie and I don't own a toaster oven--yet. When I do, I will certainly be getting some of these mixes to try!
Bargain Bakers would like to give away 3 coupons to my readers: 2 for 40% off their order, and one for 50% off shipping! Just fill out the form below to enter, good luck, and happy baking!

"Shaping the New You" Review and Giveaway
So, when I was pregnant with Maggie I kept saying that she was doing a number on my rear. It got huge (at least to me) and it was covered in stretch marks. Well, I am pleased to say that almost 10 months after giving birth, I am now back down to a size 16--in children's that is. Oh, and stretch marks are gone! I know, I know--don't hate me!
Honestly, I wasn't even this small before I got pregnant. I was a size 3. Now, (I'm sure from a combination of nursing, my high metabolism and chasing after my active little girl,) I have the incredibly shrinking waistline. I can no longer fit into my pre-pregnancy pants because they are all too big! Luckily, my very skinny baby sister has given me a few pairs of her old jeans. Now I just need to start exercising some to tone it up a bit, and I'll be set.
I know though that, like I said, I have been blessed with a very high metabolism that most are not as fortunate to have. I do however still need to exercise because I have no muscle, whatsoever! And, I really, REALLY need to start eating healthier!
Chicken Soup for the Soul just launched a new book for health and fitness called, "Shaping the New You." It's full of 101 stories about dieting, fitness, and finding what works for you! You'll find a story written by Richard Simmons along with many other fine authors. I've already begun reading the book and I really enjoyed the stories I've read thus far.
Like I said, even though I may not need to lose any weight, I DO need to get in shape, and I hope that reading this book will give me some encouragement to work out each day. If nothing more, I should start doing my pregnancy exercises (that I learned in our Bradley classes!) again so I'm ready for baby number 2, whenever he or she is conceived..
You can purchase this book at Amazon.com! And, you also have a chance to win a book through this blog. In fact, there will be THREE winners!

WeaverWood
Many of you have probably noticed the new ad I put up for Weaverwood. I've been talking with the owner of Weaverwood for quite a while now. He's a really nice gentleman who puts great care and skill into his products!
He's got some excellent items that I think you'll really love! He has quality, handmade wooden products that are hard to find at such great prices! These are not the cheap products you'll find in Walmart!
He's offered to give my readers a 10% off code to use in his store! Just type in code, "thriftyniftymommy" when you make your purchase. I'm thinking of buying something myself but I can't decide whether to go with the toy box or rocking chair. Both are super cute!
Click Here to Visit His Shop on Etsy!
PS Tax time is coming! Put that rebate towards an awesome birthday present or Christmas present for next year! :)

"The Adventures of Pookster and Bubs" Book Series Review
I truly believe that it is so important to read to children. I loved to read and be read to as a child, and I still love reading (when I get the chance!) today. I'm always looking for great books for Maggie that are not only entertaining but also an educational experience. That's why I love the "The Adventures of Pookster and Bubs" series from author Rhonda Funk.
As a Christian family, I want to teach my daughter Christian values. "The Adventures of Pookster and Bubs" book series focus on the fruits of the spirit. I was sent the books, "Pookster and the Unloose Tooth", a lesson in patience, and "Pookster and the Practically Perfect Pickle", a lesson on kind words.
In "Pookster and the Unloose Tooth," Pookster learns the importance of waiting on God rather than doing things on her own. Gosh, as an adult, even I need to be reminded of that! "Pookster and the Practically Perfect Pickle" teaches children that sour words are hurtful and that it is important and pleasing to God to use sweet words.
I enjoyed reading these books! They are very entertaining. They are still a little wordy for my 10 month old, but would be great for children ages 4-10! The books are written in ways that will be very relatable to your children. Another plus is that they each come with a CD, so you can take the book along and listen in the car, or let your children listen at home when you are too busy cooking dinner or cleaning the house.
Each of these books end with a Bible verse that relates to the topic, perfect for memorization. I give these books 2 thumbs up and would definitely recommend that you add them to your child's library!
Check out their website, http://www.pooksterandbubs.com/ and read more about the author at http://www.rhondafunk.com/.

StickerYou Review & Giveaway
I can't tell you how many times when I've helped out in the church nursery that we are saying, "whose cup is this, whose diaper bag is this, who brought this toy?" Have you been there? What about you scrapbookers-- do you find yourself running out of cool die cuts for your albums? Do any of you have children with sticker books? Have you ever wanted to make custom stickers? If you've answered yes to any of those questions, I've got a new website for you to check out! It's http://www.stickeryou.com/.
StickerYou allows you to create and purchase your own custom stickers. High-quality, removable, vinyl stickers - the really good ones. Get started with our artwork, or upload your own logo or image - it's easy. Your stickers will be printed, die-cut, and shipped to your door in about a week.
I ordered 2 sheets of stickers. The first sheet has some of my favorite cartoon characters: Peanuts! they are so cute are very high quality! The other sheet I ordered has a pretty butterfly along with my daughter's name. Now I'll be able to attach them to all of her goodies so at least the ladies at church will know what belongs to her! The sheet with her name came with 45 labels! Enough to label a LOT of items!
I also love that these stickers are removable--and remove cleanly! Now Maggie can play with stickers (when she gets a little older!) and I don't have to worry about them being stuck to the wall, her hair, her clothes, the car, the couch, forever!! They are also dishwasher and microwave safe, so I don't have to worry about them on her cups!
StickerYou would like to give one of my readers a coupon code for 25% off their first order of 4 sheets of stickers. Just fill out the form below for your chance to win it!

Jumbies Review and Giveaway
I've given away some Jumbies a few times now in giveaways on my Facebook page, so I was very excited to have the chance to review them myself!
What are Jumbies you ask? Jumbies are these cute stuffed animals that have been, well, jumbled! With Jumbies, you'll find an elephant crossed with a zebra, a dingo/bat, and 10 more fun animal combinations!
We were sent 3 Jumbies to try out: Arthur the Camelot (Camel & Oscelot), Sampson the Sealion (Seal & Lion) and Zumbo the Zelephant (Zebra and Elephant). They are really cute! If you're wondering about size, they are just about the size of Beanie Babies--remember those?
When I pulled them out and gave them to Maggie, she immediately gravitated towards Sampson the Sealion. She has a love for all things furry. She carried him around for at least 10 minutes (which is a long time for her since her attention span is still not very long). She has enjoyed playing with all of the animals though, and they are really sweet looking! They've held up well so far through the spit and slobber!

Tota--Grocery Stabilization System Review
What did I use Tota for? What did I NOT use Tota for, that's the real question!
Tota is marketed as a grocery stabilization system. Basically they are these neat little collapsible totes that you can put in the trunk of your car (or back seat of truck in my case) to keep all of your groceries neatly together on your way home. You then get home without groceries rolling all over the back of the vehicle! My husband is much more OCD than I am, and he was extra appreciative of the nice, structured look it gave our groceries.
The only thing I didn't like about the Tota with the groceries is that they don't seem too sturdy. I was sent the paper core box. I would recommend that if you plan on carrying your groceries into the house while still inside the Tota, that you purchase the plastic core boxes. If the paper ones were loaded up with heavy items like cans or milk I'm afraid the Tota would not be able to hold up.
I found SO many other great uses for my Tota though and actually use it more in other ways than for groceries. I love the fact that these can collapse because it makes them so easy to store. I live in a townhouse and it feels like I am having to take stuff from the top floor, down 2 flights of steps to storage in the basement, and vice versa on a daily basis. My daughter is still outgrowing her clothes every 3 months, and so I'm constantly taking clothes that are too small down to store in the basement. So, while I'm folding her clean laundry, anything that no longer fits gets tossed into a Tota.
We also have a shortage of laundry hampers in this house. There just isn't enough room living in a townhouse for a lot of hampers. Tota works great to toss my clean socks or clean cloth diapers into while they are waiting to be stuffed. Going to Grandma's for the day-- I just throw a few stuffed animals, books, and toys in a Tota and Maggie is set. The uses for it are never ending!
When it's not in use, I collapse my Tota down and store it on the rack above my washer and dryer. It's space saving, functional, and I give it a 2 thumbs up!

Charlie Banana One Size Diaper Review
Another diaper review for you guys! These have a really fun name--"Charlie Banana!" I love it!
When I first started to build up my stash, I bought all One size diapers. Now that I have started to review diapers, I have been trying out the sized diapers, when I can, so that I can see the difference. Charlie Banana sent me a black size small diaper. I was excited to get a black diaper because I've never seen that color offered anywhere else! The diaper included one microfiber insert. Charlie Banana also sent me 2 of their disposable inserts to try. Here's what I think:
Charlie Banana diapers are very similar to other big name cloth diapers, like FuzziBunz. If you like FuzziBunz, you will love these as well. There was a slight difference on this diaper and that was the tabs on the front have an extra snap so you can overlap them when needed, which I think would have been great for the newborn stage! I didn't have any leaks at all when Maggie has worn this diaper. She is almost 16 pounds and the size small still fit her (although she'll probably outgrow it soon.) Also, this diaper opens at the front for stuffing, rather than the back.
I did also try the disposable liners. I have to admit that I was not a huge fan of them. I think that its a great idea and has potential, but I felt like the liner was probably not very comfortable for my daughter to wear. it felt very stiff. I can see an advantage to having a few of these on hand though (if baby has a rash and you need to use cream that is not cloth diaper safe for example).
I definitely did like this diaper and will continue to use it. It will not be one of *those* diapers that gets pushed to the back of the diaper drawer for emergencies, that's for sure! I liked the fit, look, and overall performance of this diaper. It may be new to the USA still, but I think it will continue to grow here!
Would you like to buy your own Charlie Banana diaper, you can find a list of their retailers by Clicking Here!

Yahoo Frigidaire Online Store Review
I don't think I've ever given a poor review and this is quite hard for me to do. You always assume that when a company contacts you to review their products that they will work with you to make you happy. That has, unfortunately, not been my experience with an online Frigadaire accessories store (http://frigidaire.stores.yahoo.net/).
Customer service is very important to me, especially with an online store. So, why am I unhappy? Well, let me start at the beginning.
I was contacted by this company to review their online store. I was given store credit to make a purchase, so I did just that. I had a great time shopping and they do have a decent selection. I was given $30 store credit, and with that I was able to purchase a baking stone, 2 silicon potholders, and 2 cutting boards. I placed my order and it was at my doorstep within a few days. Everything was great up until this point.
I opened the box and saw right away that the cutting boards I had ordered had not arrived. I'm a reasonable person I think, and I realized that since it was close to the holidays (this all occurred back around Thanksgiving time) they were probably swamped and just had a mix up. No big deal! I contacted the representative I was working with for the review and she said that she would pass the info along to the person who was in charge of orders. She also told me that he was off for the holidays so it would be a few days. Again, I totally understand this!
Luckily for me, I paid for my order with the store credit they supplied and only spent a few dollars myself to cover the difference of my order. Had I been your normal paying customer, this would have been even more upsetting. It is my feeling that if a company is not willing to right a wrong with a review blogger, then I have to wonder how they handle orders with your average customer.
The baking stone I received does a great job. I have made cookies on it a few times now. The silicon pot holders are also a great addition to my kitchen! Although they do have decent products at a fair price, I can not say that I would recommend shopping at this site.
*This is not a paid post. I received free store credit to place an order from this store. This is my own honest opinion of this website and my shopping experience with them. Please note that your experience with them may be different from my own.*

The time I was supposed to hear back from the company by passed, so after a few more days I sent another email. I did receive a reply and was asked for details about my order, which I gave. That was the last I have heard from the company. I sent another email about 2 weeks ago to inquire about my order and received no response.

Crown My Baby Tutu Review and Giveaway
Maggie finally has her very own tutu--and a very beautiful tutu it is! Crown My Baby was nice enough to send her a personalized tutu and it is fabulous!
When it first arrived, it was packed in a little box, wrapped in tissue paper and tied neatly together. At first glace I thought it was a little small. Then I untied it and it started to "fluff!" This tutu is pink and purple with LOTS of tulle! She does not scrimp on that! It's not small by any means!
Then I started to notice all the details. It's got a sweet flower at the front. The back ties have beads on them. One side has pretty circle beads and the other side has Maggie's name in letter beads! It looks so neat!!
We put the tutu on Maggie and loved watching her in it. The very first time she wore it, she stood all by herself for longer than she ever had before. Maybe it gave her extra balance? She crawled around the house for about 10 minutes in her tutu but you'd never know! It is really well made! I would definitely recommend Crown My Baby tutus! We are so very happy with ours!! I'm planning to take Maggie in to get professional pictures taken with her wearing the tutu!
Make sure you check out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CrownMyBaby and her website, http://www.crownmybaby.com/.

"The Rose Princess and the Special Gift" Book Review
The Rose Princess and the Special Gift
Written by: Mike de Vetter
Illustrated by: Travis Orams
Published by Fish Pond, a division of Deep River Books
Here's a short description of the book, found on the back cover:
Not far from here lives The Rose Princess in a kingdom ruled by her father the King. One morning she awakes to find a splendid package at the end of her bed full of gifts and a card from her father encouraging her to use the gifts wisely. Unaware of what lies ahead, the princess sets out on a journey of learning and adventure where she meets several people who are in need. Suddenly she realizes that the gifts she has received can help the others, and that she has to make a choice...keep the gifts to herself, or help others by giving the gifts away.
In The Rose Princess and the Special Gift, children embrace the heart of generosity and begin to make conscious decisions to share and give people who are in need. They learn that they have the ability to lead and influence simply by being a positive example.
I loved reading this book! It is still a little wordy for my 9 month old, but it was a really quick read for myself that I completely enjoyed. I would say that this book is perfect for girls ages 5-10. Not only is the book well written and easy for a child to understand, it also has bright colorful illustrations. This book is great to teach your child(ren) the importance of generosity and sharing.
You can purchase this book on Amazon.com by clicking here!
*I was not paid for this review. I only share my honest opinions. Thanks to the company for the complimentary review item.*

Cloth By Tel Review and Giveaway
Most of you know that I love trying out new cloth diapers! Some my wonderful fans on Facebook voted for me to host a review and giveaway sponsored by Cloth by Tel and of course, I couldn't be happier!
I have been eager to try a diaper from Cloth by Tel because her diapers can be purchased for much less than other brands. She has sales many times for $8 pocket diapers (this is in Canadian money--I'm not sure exactly what that translates to in American dollar, but its not a huge difference!). That's a great price for a girl like me on a tight budget! Unfortunately, I think when you see a price that is so much better than others, you think that the quality isn't going to be good. I know that was definitely my worry!
I am so pleased to say that I LOVE my diaper!! Honestly, I wish I had some extra money right now to order more. I actually think it just may take the place of my favorite diaper all around. I would definitely say that at that price, if I had to start all over again, I would order a lot more of my stash from Tel!!
So, why do I love this diaper so much--one word for you, elastic! The elastic on this diaper is amazing. It is the perfect amount of stretchiness on the back. It is really easy to get a great fit out of these diapers. I also love that the included microterry insert is completely covered by the inner fleece. My daughter has worn this diaper a few times now with no leaks, and they are washing great! Did I mention that Cloth by Tel has TONS of different colors and patterns to choose from as well? She has super cute stuff and you really should check her out!
My experience has been that this diaper works just as well for my 9 month daughter as the Fuzzibunz and BumGenius diapers in our stash. I would definitely recommend Cloth by Tel to friends and family! You can check out Cloth by Tel on Facebook, on Twitter, and also on her website.
Here's your chance to give Cloth by Tel a try with a little giveaway! She'd like to give a lucky fan a pink onesize diaper!

Baby Frills Review & Giveaway
My daughter looked freakin' cute at church yesterday, if I do say so myself. :) She was rocking out an outfit from Baby Frills. Baby Frills makes these really cute sets of leg warmers, shirts, and hair pieces that all coordinate! All I had to do was provide a onesie for underneath, shoes, socks, and a jean skirt and my daughter was set!
I was amazed at how well they were able to get everything to coordinate together, and yet not look TOO matchy matchy. The workmanship on them is great. The leg warmers have flawless stitching, and the shirt has wonderful applique work on it as well. Lastly this cute little hair piece to top it all off was just perfect! It stayed on my daughter's head really well—even with her small amount of baby hair.
All I can think when looking at these is how CUTE it would look if you had twins or best friends to each have a set like this but with slightly different colors and patterns. Boy or girls (of course, the boys minus the hair piece) would look adorable!
Baby Frills also sells lots of other items. She's got leg warmers, bows, applique onesies and tees, wee wee crowns, diaper covers and more!
Would you like to purchase your own set like mine? Here are the pricing details. I think it's a great deal for everything you get!
Baby Frills Set:
Set 1) Machine Applique Onesie* & Leg Warmers* $15.00
Set 2) Machine Applique Onesie* & Leg Warmers with Matching Bow/Clippies $17.00
Set 2) Machine Applique Onesie* & Scruffle Legs with Matching Bow/Clippies $20.00
*Add $2.00 for a Tee
*Add $3.00 for Eco-Friendly Leg Warmers
*Add $3.00 for Ages 3 & Up Leg Warmers
Check out Baby Frills on Facebook, www.facebook.com/BabyFrills and you can also find them on Etsy at
http://www.etsy.com/shop/babyfrills.
Baby Frills would like to offer you a 15% off coupon code to use at her Etsy shop! Just use "THRIFTYNIFTYMOMMY15". We also have a little giveaway for you as well! Three winners will recieve a coupon for a free pair of clippies or a korker bow with the purchase of a pair of Valentine Leg Warmers ($6.95 with $1.75 ship).
