Scentsy with Heidi Linzbach Review

I'm so excited to introduce you to Heidi Linzbach, a wonderful Scentsy consultant. I've heard so much about Scentsy and even been invited to a party or two, but I have not had a chance to try any of their products (or go to a party), until now! Heidi sent me some Scentsy products and I'm in love! But wait--before I get into that, let me tell you a little bit more about Heidi in her own words:

My Scentsy story is a simple one; I had known of the product since it was first introduced here in Meridian. I was a teacher and LOVED that I could use Scentsy in my classroom. I soon replaced burning any candles with melting Scentsy. I loved that it was safe for kids and pets and eliminated the risk of fire. It wasn't until a few years later, January 2, 2008, that I signed up as a consultant. By that time, I was a stir-crazy stay at home mom with two young kids and needed something to do to get out of the house once and a while. I also had the hopes of making a little money. I thought that Scentsy was the perfect job. I was absolutely right!! Scentsy has provided me with so much more than I could have imagined. I can choose my schedule, have a blast working and have been able to make good money, all while making some great new friends. My kids are a little older now and are even helping with my business. I love, love, love my job!

If you are looking for a part or full-time job, I am always looking for great people to join my team! Contact me with any questions.

Heidi sent me a nightlight warmer. I put it in our downstairs bathroom so that when I have guests over, I can greet them with a welcoming, fresh smelling bathroom. The Scentsy warmer has a really nice look to it that fits in so well with my house's decor. It smells so good, I have to admit, I've used it even when we don't have guests over! The wax scent bars last for a good amount of time, and I found it really easy to change out the old wax for new wax.

Heidi sent me the scents, "Flutter" and "Black Raspberry Vanilla" and although I think they both smell fabulous, I really love the "Flutter" scent! I've been looking through all of the many choices for scentsy bars, and I want to try the "My Dear Watson"  and "Lucky In Love" scents next!

At just $5 for each Scentsy bar, and warmers as low as $12 on closeout (for real--I just checked!) Scentsy is very affordable for you to get into! If you do not already have your own Scentsy consultant, I'd encourage you to get to know Heidi!. She will take such great care of you! Even if you do not live local to her, she can help you set up on online party or take care of your individual Scentsy needs.  Check out her personal Scentsy page, https://heidilin.scentsy.us/Home and also her Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/WicklessHeidi!

Chicken Soup for the Soul Country Music Book Review and Giveaway

Songs tell a story, and now many of country music’s most famous singers and songwriters are sharing more of the story! These artists reveal the inspiration, influence, and background, and when and why they wrote their most famous songs, in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music. The book also includes great photos of the songwriters and all of the lyrics. A great gift for anyone who loves country music!

My normal music choice is contemporary Christian music, but when I'm not listening to that, then most likely you'll hear country music on my radio. I like to stories that most of the songs tell, and that's why I really enjoyed reading this book and learning about the stories behind the songs. I especially liked reading the story behind a few of my favorite songs, He Didn't Have to Be, I Hope You Dance, & Jesus Take the Wheel.  If you enjoy country music, I would definitely recommend this book to you and think that you'll really love it!

Chicken Soup for the Soul is going to give 3 of my readers their own copy of this book! Enter below for your chance!

Stain Solver Cleaner Review and Giveaway

So my husband works at a huge printing company,  on a printing press. They print book covers. Well, about 2 weeks ago, some how the ink from his work ended up walking up my stairs and into the dining room.  We still aren't really sure how it happened because my husband is very good about taking his shoes off when he comes in the door. My best guess is that one morning he forgot something and darted back up the stairs to grab it before heading out to work--not realizing that he had already put his shoes on AND that the ink on his shoes hadn't dried all the way from the night before.  How it ended up on the carpet really doesn't matter. What matters is that I had black spots up and down my stairs and a few leading into the dining room.

I tried 2 other floor cleaners on the spots, but they didn't change the black spots one bit. I was really thinking that this was just one more reason why we needed to put in wood floors, and soon!

When my Stain Solver arrived, I figured it would be just like all the others. I even admit, it took me over a week to even try it out. I wasn't overly anxious to use it because I just "knew" it would not get the stain out. Finally one night a few days ago I had some free time and I figured I'd better get to working on this review. I thought about trying it out first on one of Maggie's snack spill stains, but then I thought--nope, going for the big stuff!

I mixed up the solution according to the directions on the bottle for carpet stains. Then I poured it on...I can't tell you how surprised I was when IT WORKED! It really worked! Ink--ugly, blank ink--it's gone!

I tried it on the few stains in the dining room first. And, to be honest, I didn't even take pictures of it before because I was so confident that it wouldn't work. I know--bad review blogger! Luckily, I had the whole stairs to tackle, so plenty more photo opportunities!  I waited 2 days to make sure that as the stain dried I didn't notice any discoloration of my carpet (which I didn't!) so tonight I tackled my stairs.

Take a look at my before and after pictures (these pictures were taken about 10 minutes apart--the carpet is still wet in the second set of pictures, but the stains are completely gone!):

I am completely sold on this carpet cleaner. I have never been so impressed with a carpet cleaner. I've even started to rethink my wood floors! I didn't want carpet because of the stains, but that doesn't appear to be a problem anymore! I give Stain Solver 2 thumbs up and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!!

Here's a little bit more about the cleaner from the company:

Stain Solver saves anything you can wash in water from dirt, stains and odor. From clothes, linens, carpet, gym shoes and upholstered furniture to tile floors, countertops, decks, roofs and siding. Yeah, it pretty much cleans everything, even the kitchen sink.

Just add Stain Solver to water and mix until dissolved, and you have a crazy powerful cleaning concoction. You can soak stuff in it, spray it on stuff, mop it over stuff, sponge it on top of stuff or create your own way of using it. However you choose to apply it, what was once dirty, stained and ruined will very soon be saved.

Stain Solver's saving power comes from the non-toxic oxygen ions that are released when it's mixed with water. The oxygen ions naturally attack the stains, dirt and odor on your stuff, breaking them apart at the molecular level, leaving only perfectly clean, stain-free stuff behind.

It's non-toxic, all natural and completely kid and pet safe.

Stain Solver is an environmentally safe oxygen bleach. The raw materials used in the active ingredient are so pure they are registered by the FDA as food-grade quality! You can't get any purer than that.

Stain Solver’s ingredients are Made in the USA. Some of the heavily advertised oxygen bleach cleaners contain ingredients made across the Pacific Ocean. Some of those same products contain vast amounts of filler. Stain Solver contains the maximum amount of active ingredient as allowed by law. The raw materials that are used in the active ingredient are so pure they are registered by the FDA as food-grade quality! You can't get any purer than that.

You can count on Stain Solver Oxygen Bleach to deliver the most powerful cleaning results because it is blended to the absolute highest standards!

You can purchase Stain Solver directly from their website. Make sure you check out the sweepstakes they have going on right now on their Facebook page. And,  here's your chance to win a bottle for yourself. It's excellent--you'll love it!

Chicken Soup for the Soul "My Cat's Life" Review and Giveaway

From kittenhood through the twilight years, our feline companions bring joy, love, and laughter to their “staff.” Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Cat’s Life captures the experience of living through the natural life cycle with our cats. Stories cover each age and stage with all the fun, frustrations, special bonds and routines involved, including special attention to senior cats and grieving.

I have to admit that I am more of a dog person than a cat one, but we do have a little feline friend in our house. Her name is Abby, and she's our guard cat. No--really--she's MEAN! All of our guests are terrified of her. We normally have to lock her in the basement any time we have company. She does however love my husband and I and can be very sweet to us!

Although she drives me crazy at times, we love her so much! She's a member of the family! My daughter is particularly fond of her (even though Abby doesn't yet share the same excitement over her!)  This Chicken Soup for the Soul "My Cat's Life" is a great addition to my library. I've really enjoyed the stories about kitties. You'll have a laugh, shed a tear, and remember why you love the cat in your life while you read this book!

You can purchase this book at Amazon.com and many other fine retailers. You also have a chance to win your own copy now. Just enter below; good luck!

Sidral Mundet Review

What IS Sidral Mundet?

Sidral Mundet’s, popular apple-flavored soft drink from Mexico has a great taste that comes from real apples and not artificial flavorings.

Made with natural apple juice, natural sugar and no artificial flavors or colors, Sidral Mundet boasts a unique and delicious taste.

Started by Don Arturo Mundet in 1902 when Porfirio Diaz was still governing Mexico, Mundet still remains the 100% Mexican soft drink with a flavor that really does come from real apples!

Don Arturo pioneered the use of what became the popular hermetapa, which assured the brand’s consistent great flavor. Today Sidral Mundet is among the best known brands in Mexico and one with great tradition. Mundet still maintains its high quality, which has been endorsed by Mexican mothers who give their children Sidral when they are sick to provide hydration.

Since Mundet’ flavor comes from real apples and apple juice, the drink is pasteurized which gives it taste as well as health benefits.

What did I think of it?

My husband and I decided to each try a bottle of this soda on one of our movie nights (we love to pop some popcorn and watch a good movie together after the little one is in bed!). We both LOVED our drinks! My husband had the green apple soda, and I had the regular apple soda. We shared our drinks though, and both agreed that the green apple was our favorite but we did really like the regular apple flavor as well! I'm am going to start combing all the local grocery stores in hopes of finding someone who sells it locally! I love the fact that it is made with SUGAR and not the corn syrup crap! It also has a lighter, less syrupy taste that makes it a lot more refreshing than other sodas. I give it two thumbs up and would encourage you to buy some yourself to try if you see some in your local grocery store!

Flip Flop Wines Review

I recently started a guest blogger program, so you get to hear review from other people from time to time. Here is the first guest blogger posting! Please welcome Cristina from Tailor Made Momma!

Let me start by saying I am NOT a wine expert but I do enjoy a good glass of wine!

Flip Flop Wines was wonderful enough to send me three bottles of wine to try out. They sent me two bottles of White wine. A Pinot Grigio and a Riesling and one bottle of red wine, a Pinot Noir.

The first bottle we opened was the Pinor Noir. FF Wines classified this as a Medium Dry/Dry wine and I definately agree. It had a very mild sweetness and a bit of a bitter after taste. It was very smooth and easy to drink.

Next we tried the Riesling. I have to say that after reading the description that FF Wines gave about this wine it was the one that I was most looking forward to trying. This wine was classified as a Medium Sweet/sweet wine, with hints of peach apricot and melon. I was a bit disappointed in it. It had a nice sweet taste but was very bitter at the end. I had a hard time finishing my on glass. It just wasn't for me.

Finally we tried the Pinot Grigio. This was by far our favorite of the three bottles. This was classified as a medium dry/medium sweet wine. It was in the middle of the three when it came to sweetness. It had just a hint of a pear flavor and was wonderfully delicious and refreshing. So refreshing actually that I didn't even have any water at dinner, just wine! My husband also loved this wine! We are usually a one glass of wine with dinner kind of family but we finished off this bottle in one night.

Besides being tasty this wine also has a lot of other great points! First it retails for about $7 a bottle! You just can't beat that. Instead of the traditional corked bottle these come with twist on tops. Now for a true wine aficionado this may be a no no, but for casual wine drinkers like my husband and I this is great! It made it very easy to reseal the bottle to enjoy another night as we almost NEVER finish a full bottle at once. And last but not least is Flip Flop Wines partnership with Soles4Souls. For every bottle of wine sold Flip Flop Wines donates a pair of shoes to someone in need (up to 100,000 shoes in the first year!).

All in all, I think that Flip Flop wines is a very good wine for a very good price! I will definitely pick up a bottle or two for our next dinner party!!

Baby Signs Starter Kit Review and Giveaway

I was fortunate enough to have sign language offered as a course at my high school. I was so excited to take it because I had heard about using sign language for babies and I knew I wanted to do so when I had children of my own. It was a great class and I learned so much! Unfortunately that was almost 10 years ago, and because I haven't used sign very much since that class, sadly I have forgotten most of the things I learned.

I did remember a few important signs like "milk" and "more" and I started teaching those to Maggie a few months ago. She picked up the sign for milk at about 10 months old. It was her first sign.

When I was contacted to review the Baby Signs Starter Kit, I was really excited because it included everything I needed to refresh my memory on all of the signs I wanted to teach Maggie.

Here's some basic info about the starter kit:

Based on the original sign language program for babies, the Baby Signs Complete Starter Kit has everything parents and their babies need for a successful start to signing fun. This value-packed Kit contains: Parent Guide to the Baby Signs Program: An illustrated step-by-step signing guide for parents and caregivers. 80 pages. Parent DVD: A video introduction to the Baby Signs Program. Also includes Video Dictionary with real-life demonstrations of the100 signs that are most useful to babies. My Favorite Signs DVD: Video for babies that teaches signs through captivating animation, playful puppets and delightful signing babies. Signs at a Glance Flipper: 86 signs on a unique flip-card with magnetic backing for easy display. Baby Signs Board Books: A set of 4" x 4" board books for little hands with colorful illustrations and a review page at the end of each book that encourages even more signing fun and interaction. Titles include: My Mealtime Signs My Bedtime Signs My Bath Time Signs My Pets Signs

I really love this kit and have found it so helpful! Maggie enjoys the DVD and actually watches it (at 13 months!) From watching the movie, she has learned the sign for "dog", "hat," "cat," "duck," and "all-done" and she's getting close to the others! I've also started working with her on others signs on my own. She can now say all of these words in sign language. Most of these signs she has learned in just the past month:
  • More
  • Milk
  • All Done
  • Dog
  • Hat
  • Shoes
  • Socks
  • Cat
  • Duck
We are working on other signs that I'm sure she'll pick up soon. The books that come with this starter kit are a great way for us to practice her signing, and she loves reading! I also found the adult DVD to be a very helpful refresher course for me.

I think baby signing is great! I can see the pride on Maggie's face when she's able to tell us things and we understand her. She loves it! My husband and I love to see the new things she learns each day. There are lots of Baby Signs DVD's and I want to get them all!

If you decide to try signing with your child, don't get discouraged if they don't catch on right away, especially if they are young. Just keep doing it, and one day, they will sign back to you (and it's an amazing thing)! And the next thing you know, they will be learning a new sign each day!

Here's your chance to win your own Baby Signing Starter Kit! Use the form below for your chance to win. Good luck!

Beating the Marriage Odds Book Review

The statistics are staggering. One out of every two marriages today will fail. What is the cause of such staggering statistics? What, if anything, can be done to keep couples together? This book offers concrete principles for building and sustaining a sound marriage. It outlines the most common causes of marriage failure and offers sound principles to avoid or correct such problems. Those who are considering marriage as well as those who have been married for years will benefit from real life examples and principles that they can apply to their own marriages. Beating the Marriage Odds also provides a valuable resource for pastors, small group leaders and counselors.

Thrifty Nifty Daddy and I have been married almost 6 years now, the best 6 years of my life. I like to think that we have a pretty good marriage, but I've always believed in always trying to make my marriage better. I think it's something you  need to invest time and energy into every day, which is why I requested the book, "Beating the Marriage Odds" by William R. Campbell to review.

Although this book was written with the intent to help couples who are engaged and planning a marriage, I still found things that I have been able to apply to our marriage now. There were many things that made me think and I truly believe that reading this book will improve my marriage. I especially appreciated the chapter on Fighting Fair and Mind Games.

I also appreciated that Mr. Campbell used not only real world examples to make his points, but he also included Biblical scripture to back up what he was saying. If you are married and would like to improve your marriage or if you are engaged and planning to marry soon, I would definitely recommend this book! I give it two thumbs up!

You can get a brand new copy of this book for as low as $2.49 on Amazon.com!
