Postpartum Haircare

It's happening so much quicker this time around....I'm talking about postpartum hair loss. When Maggie was born, it seemed like it was a few months after her birth that I started to slowly shed all my beautiful, excess hair, but it's already started just 2 weeks after Jacob was born! I hate it!

If you've recently had a baby and are suffering like I am there are a few things you can do to help with the postpartum hair loss. These won't stop it completely, but they are supposed to help!
  • Continue taking your prenatal vitamins. If you are deficient in certain nutrients, you're apt to loose even more hair!
  • Purchase shampoo/conditioner designed to give you more volume. This will help you not to notice your thinning hair as much.
  • Minimize stress
One of the special things I did when my hair started to fall out after having Maggie was to treat myself to some nice hair care products. Normally I just buy cheap shampoo and conditioner when I'm out grocery shopping, but during times like this, I like to treat myself!

I'm getting ready to place an order for my favorite high-end shampoo from Image Beauty.  Image Beauty has a huge selection of discount beauty supplies not only for haircare, but also cosmetics, skincare, and fragrances. Shopping there means I can get the high quality products I want without paying an arm and a leg. If you become their fan on Facebook, you'll have access to exclusive discounts and be the first to know about their new sales.

Remember, if you're suffering from postpartum hair loss, it's normal! If it is falling out in huge clumps, then contact your doctor or midwife, otherwise don't stress over it! You should spend this time (as I am!) enjoying your new baby!!
