Pastry Sneakers Review and Giveaway

It's that time of year--back to school! As kids get older, it becomes more and more important to them to fit in with their peers, and one of those ways is in how they dress. Everyone wants the latest fashion. I remember as a girl growing up that we never had a ton of extra money, so our back to school budget was pretty limited. We usually got at least 1 new outfit (that wasn't a hand-me-down) and wearing that outfit made me feel a lot more confident for my first day of school!

 

Pastry is a lifestyle fashion brand from Angela and Vanessa Simmons -- the fashionable daughters of the legendary Rev. Run of Run DMC and stars of the hit MTV reality Shows “Run’s House ” and “Daddy’s Girls.” They've come out with sneakers that your preteens and teens are sure to want to get their feet into!

 

Now, let me be honest with you. When I saw these shoes, my first reaction was, "Eww! Those are NOT going on my feet!" Well, I am (thank goodness, ha ha!) no longer a teenage girl. I don't know many teen girls, but I have a fabulous midwife (and friend!) who has 2 teenagers (a boy and a girl), so I sent her a picture of the shoes so she could ask her daughter what she thought. Well, not only did her daughter think they were AWESOME, her son (who is a 13) liked them as well!

Pastry sent me a pair of the Studded Sugar Rush Turquoise is her size. She says they are even better in person than in the picture! She's been loving them!!

As a parent, one of the things I noticed first about these shoes is that you get 3 looks for the price of 1! (I can appreciate that!). The top part of the shoes zips off, so you can wear them like regular sneakers, like hightops, or with the top half folded down.
