Pump Strap Review and Giveaway

I've said it before, but I'll say it again--I've never been a huge fan of pumping...pumping breastmilk that is. I consider it one of those necessary evils when I've got a little nursing. My husband and I want and need to be able to go out on date nights however, so I make myself do it every now and then.

One of the things I hate about pumping is how much time it eats up. 10 minutes on one side, then switch to the next side for another 10 minutes (I have a double pump but I can not hold them both and turn the machine on/off without making a mess, so I gave up on that!). Sure, I'd watch tv while I did that, but that was all I could do, so it felt like such a waste! I am a multi-tasker. Rarely do I watch TV anymore without my laptop on my lap. So, when I was contacted about reviewing the Pump Strap I was excited to do so!

To put it simply, the Pump Strap was designed to help moms pump hands free, and of course pump both sides at once to cut your pumping time in half!

Now, I have to admit that right as the Pump Strap arrived at my house, my milk supply had FINALLY leveled out. I had an abundance for a long time and was forced to pump frequently for my comfort, so it took me a little while to try this product because I was enjoying my break.  We went out on a date Monday night so I finally tried it out.

My experience with the Pump Strap was that it was EASY to use (just wrap it around you, velcro it on, attach the flanges and you're ready to go!), helped me pump in half the time, PLUS I was able to do some blogging work while I pumped! It was great! Did it make me LOVE pumping, well, to be honest, no, but it certainly made the chore a lot easier! It's like hand-washing dishes and finally getting a dishwasher! :)

If you are someone who has to pump a lot (let me say, God bless you and I'm sorry!) having this is a must! You can purchase a Pump Strap for just $24.95 at http://www.pumpstrap.com.

One lucky Thrifty Nifty Mommy reader will also WIN a Pump Strap! Just use the easy Rafflecopter entry form below. Good luck!

  3. I breastfed with both my boys, but only pumped with my first. It was a lot easier to pump with only one little guy to look after! If you're having trouble with BFing, seek out help ... talk to your doctor, a local BFing group (some hospitals have biweekly meetings), and your baby's doctor. Find groups on Facebook that you can ask questions to. Most importantly, do what's best for you and your baby, even if means switching to formula or just supplementing here and there.

  4. Cold cabbage leaves for mastitis. Haven't tried this yet, but have had several people give the same advice. Also don't be afraid to see a lactation consultant.

  5. Set up a good support network BEFORE the baby's born. That way you've got numbers on-hand and people to go to for help and encouragement should you need it.

  6. Breastfeeding is not easy, but if it is something you really want to do, stick with it. It doesn't work for everyone. Don't feel bad about having to supplement. It certainly made it easier on both of us.
