So, the first thing I noticed about this mat is just how CUTE it is! I love the bug theme! The mat is also super soft!
There are a number of toys that come along with this mat. My son's favorites are the caterpillar that plays music (he LOVES music) and the soft ladybug--he's loves to chew on it!
This playmat is machine washable which is very important to me. My son spits up a lot, so his playmats tend to get washed every week--at least!
The playmat is also very easy to take apart and put back together.
This playmat is big enough for my little guy, but small enough that it doesn't take up too much floor space!

What We Thought:
Have I ever mentioned that my daughter is a tv/movie junkie? She really would watch it all day long if I'd let her! When she saw this new DVD she said, "Angelina Ballerina!" in her sweet little voice and asked if you could watch it right away. The very first time Maggie saw Angelina Ballerina (over a year ago) she wasn't into it too much, it was a little advanced for her. Now that she is older, she is really able to follow the storyline better and she LOVES Angelina Ballerina! After she watched this movie, she asked me to put on music so she could dance around the house--well, after she asked if she could watch it again and I told her she needed to play for a little while!
This is a really cute DVD and it's available for less than $15 at most places you buy DVDs. Pick it up for your little dancer next time you're out!

Aging Parents & Grandparents
We feed the kids, bath them, read a few stories, then tuck them in. It's 9pm and we're crashing into bed ourselves! Yep, my husband and I have become the "boring, old adults" we swore as kids we'd never become!
As we've aged, we can't help but be concerned for our parents and grandparents who are also not getting any younger. My husband and I have both lost grandparents, but also still have a few living. My grandfather and my husband's grandmother are both still living, but they live alone, and this is cause for concern!
My grandfather, in particular, lives on top of a mountain, without any close relatives or neighbors. My grandfather does not want to leave his home, and I don't blame him! I have always said that I hope to never need to live in a nursing home. I'm glad that he's able to stay in the home he shared with my grandmother for over 40 years, but I also want peace of mind when he is alone.
After the recent passing of my grandmother, my family started looking into getting one of the personal alarms for the elderly we saw advertised on television and found Life Alert.
Lifenet Alert gives me that peace of mind I was looking for! Finally, I know that even though family is not around, my grandfather can call for help no matter where he is! My grandfather, as I said, lives in the mountains. He loves to go outside and take hikes, go fishing, cut firewood (yes, even in his late 80's he is still doing that!) and Lifenet Alert goes with him wherever he goes!
For less than a dollar a day, I can have the assurance that, should he need it, my grandfather has access to EMT services 24 hours a day...boy that feels good!

I love to cook, and even more I love to try out new recipes. I am always searching the internet for new recipes, typically I am not a cookbook girl. I actually just sold a ton of cookbooks at a yard sale a few months back. When it comes to cookbooks I feel that usually you can find a handful of recipes that you will like out of it, so the book itself really just becomes a space waster. :( Also I really only enjoy cookbooks that have pictures in it. I want to see what I am attempting to make!
I was rather excited to receive the new ten dollar dinners cookbook by Melissa d'Arabian. I love the Food Network Channel!! I am a little obsessed with cooking shows ;-) Mostly the competition ones, so I haven't seen her show too much, but what I had seen of it I really liked.
This cookbook arrived at our home and I couldn't wait to try a few of the recipes. I started browsing the cookbook and found a ton of recipes that I really wanted to try out!! However, I am going to be honest and tell you at this point in my life I am not doing a ton of cooking!! With 2 little ones and being so close to my due date, I am just exhausted! So my lovely mother has been so kind to cook dinner every evening for the past few weeks! So we go over there every evening, excepts on Saturdays :) So I have at this point only tried 2 of the recipes, I made the kale chips for a snack one day and then my hubby and I made a sirloin steak with an herb butter for dinner one Saturday!
I really liked the Kale Chips, they were super cheap and really easy to make!! My hubby didn't care for them and either did our oldest son, but me and the youngest ate them up very quickly.
Now, lets talk about this steak! First off I was amazed at how inexpensive sirloin steak is. I bought enough for my hubby, myself, our 2 kids and 2 friends that we had over for dinner.....and we had enough left over for the hubby and I to have the next day for lunch and it was about $25! I thought this was great! I mean, go out to dinner and one of you will pay that for a good steak! Second this was really easy to make, I made the butter for it about 2 hrs before we were going to cook up the steaks and it took maybe 5 minutes. Then my hubby cooked up the steaks. This was delicious!! One of the best steaks I have ever had!!!

Pastry Sneakers Review and Giveaway
It's that time of year--back to school! As kids get older, it becomes more and more important to them to fit in with their peers, and one of those ways is in how they dress. Everyone wants the latest fashion. I remember as a girl growing up that we never had a ton of extra money, so our back to school budget was pretty limited. We usually got at least 1 new outfit (that wasn't a hand-me-down) and wearing that outfit made me feel a lot more confident for my first day of school!
Now, let me be honest with you. When I saw these shoes, my first reaction was, "Eww! Those are NOT going on my feet!" Well, I am (thank goodness, ha ha!) no longer a teenage girl. I don't know many teen girls, but I have a fabulous midwife (and friend!) who has 2 teenagers (a boy and a girl), so I sent her a picture of the shoes so she could ask her daughter what she thought. Well, not only did her daughter think they were AWESOME, her son (who is a 13) liked them as well!
Pastry sent me a pair of the Studded Sugar Rush Turquoise is her size. She says they are even better in person than in the picture! She's been loving them!!

I was lucky enough to receive a shipment of meals from HelloFresh and it came just in time for me to put off grocery shopping for another week. :) I was sent all the ingredients (and recipe cards!) to make:
- Seared salmon, crushed new potatoes, wilted spinach, tomato dressing
- A well behaved Thai red curry with chicken and toasted cashews
- Super food quinoa salad with roasted vegetables and chicken
We've made 2 out of the 3 recipes so far and they have been REALLY good! Each has taken me just a little over 30 minutes to prepare.
I have LOVED using this service! The cost for 3 meals for 2 people (which, for us, we had left-overs after each meal plus my daughter ate as well) is $69.99. Now, the first time I told my husband that price his eyes got big and he said, "I'd never pay that much!" That's when I broke it down for him:
- Each meal costs about $23--far less than we'd pay for 2 meals at a restaurant
- Meat is not cheap! On top of that, many times a recipe calls for ingredients that I need to buy, but only use a tiny bit. For example, last week I made something that called for 2 tablespoons of buttermilk and had to buy a whole half-gallon...the rest will go to waste unless I find another recipe for it!
- Each meal is MUCH healthier than the cheap, quick, processed meals we buy at the store
- Each meal is more filling because it is healthy
- When you are eating healthy foods, YOU are healthier, so in the long run, you'll spend less on medical bills.

The arrival of our 3rd child is so close! It is amazing how quickly this pregnancy has gone by! Even though it is our 3rd child I am still learning about great new products that I only wish I had known about with our first two kiddos. Recently I was introduced to La Leche League International Intimates and their nursing bras.
The first thing I noticed about this company when I visited their website was that the prices for their nursing bras are amazing!!! In my search for the perfect nursing bra I have found ones that are $50 or more! While some of these are great, the price is just a bit crazy for me! So I was thrilled over these prices and just hoped that I would love the way they fit!
I began to browse their products to see which bra I wanted to try out. I began reading the descriptions and immediately knew I needed to try out the Wrap 'N Snap bra. I am at that point in my pregnancy where nothing fits!! It is super uncomfortable to wear a bra so I was really longing to find one that fit great, but that would also fit me after I deliver our baby girl. Bic Back to School Review and Giveaway

Have your kids gone back to school yet? Our oldest started school this year, we are homeschooling and we began 2 weeks ago. He is loving every second of it! One of the things that got him really excited about school were the great supplies we were sent by BIC.
Bic products are obviously a tried and true company! I remember when I was in school going 'Back to School shopping' and loving stocking up on Bic lead pencils :) Let me just say that remembering what the pencils were like then...they have come a long way! I remember them all being black with different colored clips on the front. Now the whole pencil is a fun color!! I also remember that I was always breaking my lead, so I honestly thought our 4 1/2 yr old wouldn't be able to use these this year. I thought with him still learning to write he would get really frustrated at the lead breaking constantly. However, he has not once broke the lead on his pencils and he has been using these pencils everyday since we got started!! He also really loves the erasers that we were sent, and so do I , they have a great little grip on them and they work really well!!
I was also sent some great pens by Bic, these I kept for myself ;-) And I love them! I think I stated this once before in a previous post, but I am picky when it comes to ink pens. I like a nice smooth write, these pens are fabulous and I love the fun vibrant colors that they come in.
