I don't know about you, but I take a TON of pictures of the kids! Sure, I take a lot for blogging purposes, but I also like to take pictures, just because. When I was contacted by MailPix about reviewing some of their products, I eagerly said yes because I am bad about taking those pictures and actually printing them out!
With the complementary store credit that Mailpix gave me, I got a number of things. The first thing I ordered was a Christmas present. I decided to make travel mugs for my husband's parents, with pictures of them and the kids on them. Now, I have to be honest, the first set of mugs I got did not come out the way I ordered them. I had written "I love Grandma" and "I Love Grandpa" on each mug and some of the text did not print correctly. As a review blogger, you might be surprised by this, but I kinda like when things are not right in my order. Why? Well, I find that generally most products that I review I like--but one of the other important things to me about a company is their customer service, and I rarely get a chance to review that aspect of the business.
Well, when my mugs arrived messed up, I contacted MailPix right away and they quickly put in a new order for me. Well, the next order arrived with the same problem, and then the next. It was on my 4th mug order that they finally came back right. I knew from the beginning that MailPix was a brand new company, so they were still working out some bugs and finally figured out what was wrong with the printing on my mugs. (And yes, my correct mugs made it in time for Christmas!) Now, sure, you want your order to arrive correct the first time, but when it doesn't, it's important for there to be good customer service on the backend to fix the problem, and MailPix delivered!
When we gave the mugs to Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas, they LOVED them! Oh, and Mailpix let me keep the mugs that were messed up (most of them were just missing the last letter of the phrase) and we gave them those to use for extras.
My other big purchase from MailPix was a photo book of our vacation to Orlando Florida. I worked for an hour or two one night making a scrapbook of our trip. The books come with a set number of pages, but you can add in more pages as you need them, which I did. Well, when my book arrived, it was actually not as ordered either. Again, I contacted MailPix and they quickly made it right, no questions asked. You know what though, the funny thing is, I actually ended up liking the mistake book better than the one I ordered! I'm pretty glad it happened! See, with the book I ordered, I put a few pictures on each page and made it look like a scrapbook. With the first "mistake" book that came, the printing was messed up, and it printed with just one picture per page--the full page--like this:
I would have never thought to print a book this way before, but I LOVE it! It's because of this "mistake" that I've decided every year at the end of the year, I will make us a "year in review" photo book with full page pictures on each page. I can't tell you enough, I LOVE this book. My daughter Maggie does too! She loves to look through our vacation pictures!
Now, here is the book I actually ordered. Don't get me wrong, I like it too! :)
Lastly, I also ordered just some regular 4x6 prints and a couple of photo magnets from MailPix. They arrived perfect the first time and are great quality.
So, overall, yes, I did have some items in my order that did not come back right the first time. Again, I contribute that to them being a new company and still getting the bugs worked out. I really appreciated how friendly and helpful their customer service was, and I can honestly say that I would order from them again, despite my order issues.
Check them out online at http://www.mailpix.com/. They are always having coupons/freebies like 100 free 4x6 prints with your first order or free shipping.
